Ralphy's Page

ESRA#: 2008-1105KS
Status: Adopted

Age: 3 months
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 25 lbs
Variety: Bench

Ralphy is a cute little bench bred liver and white springer puppy. His tail is docked and his dew claws have been removed. He still needs to be neutered and has an appointment scheduled. Ralphy is an intelligent puppy with big feet and legs that he still needs to grow into. He loves people and loves playing with other dogs. Ralphy is more timid and cautious and tends to be shyer than his buddy Sparky. He is learning to trust people more everyday. Ralphy also likes to talk and makes noises when he has something important to tell you. He has learned commands like: sit, no, and want to go outside? He is crate trained ( up to 5 hours) and rides in the car like a champ. He is nearly house trained too. He is such a smart boy. Ralphy is learning about walking on a leash and will need some continued practice to get really good at leash walking. Ralphy likes to chew on rope toys and old socks. He would do best in a quieter home that will help him gain confidence and learn how wonderful people really are.

Ralphy would love a home where someone will love him and spoil him. Then he could blossom into wonderful springer he truly is.

Fletcher's Page

ESRA#: 2008-1126KS
Status: Adopted

Age: 12 months
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 47 lbs
Variety: Bench

Here is the story of Fletcher! This beautiful Springer spent the first year of his life living in a Midwest breeding facility with many other dogs and limited human contact. He was recently rescued from this place by some wonderful ESRA volunteers who drove many miles to bring him to the loving foster home where he now resides. In spite of his very difficult beginning in life, Fletcher is an awesome dog! He is very friendly and, according to his foster mom, he is the very best-behaved foster dog she has had in her home. That is pretty good for a dog who has never really had a home before now!

Fletcher is a typical sweet and happy springer. He has a very thick and luxurious coat, and it is a very beautiful liver color. He is such a handsome boy! Fletcher is great with people because he is very affectionate but not too clingy. He gets along quite well with the dog pack at his foster home. He is very playful but not aggressive. He is curious about the cat at his foster home, but he should do fine in a home with a cat who knows about dogs.

Fletcher is a smart dog and a very quick learner! He was housetrained and figured out how to use the doggy door in less than a week! He will be a dream to train, according to his foster mom. Fletcher listens very well when you give him a firm No command, and he stops what he is doing immediately.

Fletcher runs like a bunny, springs, hops, and leaps in the air! He is really enjoying life now that he has a family to love him and friends to play with. What could be better than that? Fletcher also rides well in the car and really enjoys having a bath.

If you would like to continue writing the rest of the story of Fletcher with your family, please contact us soon!

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Fletcher.

ESRA # 2008-0945UT

Age: 12 weeks
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 15 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Lane is the darling and irresistible puppy brother of Justin! He is every bit as cute and sweet as a puppy can get! He was rescued by some neighbors, with his brothers and sisters, from a very unhappy home. But Lane has left his old life behind and is enjoying lots of fun and playtime with his brother, as well as some other great dogs and puppies at his wonderful foster home!

Lane and Justin are the only puppies left from the group who didn't already find new Forever Homes. But it certainly won't take any time for these darling boys to find someone to love them forever! Lane is so much like his brother that his foster mom has a hard time telling them apart! He is great with the other dogs and puppies at his foster home. He also does fine with the cats, and just wants to play with them, too! That really is the life of a puppy, just play, play, play and have fun!! Lane is working on his housetraining, crate training and having a good time finding out what life is all about!

Lane will follow you everywhere and just wants you to love him and hold him. He is also good with children and doesn't even nip at anyone or jump up on them. That is pretty amazing for such a young puppy!

Lane has a beautiful long tail and absolutely gorgeous markings on his soft and silky coat! If you are up to the excitement and fun of a new puppy at your house, please contact us to see if Lane will be the right puppy for you!

Color: Black/White
Weight: 15 lbs.

Justin is a super sweet and very adorable Springer puppy! He was rescued by some neighbors, with his brothers and sisters, from a very unhappy home. But of course since Justin is such a little puppy, he doesn't let any of that old stuff bother him! He is just a happy and playful boy who is very glad to be at his wonderful foster home!

Justin and his brother Lane are the only puppies left from the group who didn't already find new Forever Homes. But it certainly won't take any time for these darling boys to find someone to love them forever! As a typical puppy, Justin is just too cute for words! He loves to be held and will follow you everywhere. Justin doesn't mind cats; of course he thinks they are just more friends to play with. He is great with all the dogs at his foster home and is also good with children. Justin is quite a good puppy because he doesn't even jump up on or nip anyone, which is unusual for such a young dog!

Justin has a beautiful long tail and absolutely gorgeous markings on his soft and silky coat! If you are up to the excitement and fun of a new puppy at your house, please contact us to see if Justin will be the right puppy for you!

Remington's Page

ESRA#: 2008-1091KS
Status: Adopted

Age: 18 months
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Weight: 47 lbs
Variety: Bench

Hi, there!

My name is Remi, short for Remington--remember Remington Steele? The very handsome, suave TV detective? I'm told I'm pretty handsome, but I have to work on the suave!

That said, I am learning to be a happy boy! Before I was rescued by the nice people of ESRA, I was living with a lot of dog friends out in the Midwest and things weren't so great for us. Life is so much better here in Olathe. I am a young fellow and I love running in the mountains! I like just about everyone and get along with ALMOST all the dogs at my foster home (that Boston Terrier is a grump!). I am a little too interested in the cat, however. I love to ride in the car, come when I am called, do great off-leash and am learning to walk on-leash. Because I lived outdoors before, my foster mom is teaching me about housetraining and I am doing great!

My foster mom says that I am an exceptionally smart, wonderful, and sensitive boy. I respond best to a quiet, gentle approach, and a stable and predictable lifestyle. I am happily learning what it means to be part of a family, and I truly love being with humans. Because of my past, I never learned how to play with toys and would love to have a family that could teach me how to have some of the fun I missed when I was a pup.

Let us know if you think you are the right family for Remi, a.k.a. Remington Steele!

BEAU
Lone Tree, CO

ESRA #2008-0384UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hello, I'm Beau!!
And just like a beau, I could bring a lot of love and charm to the right family! And, boy, could we have fun!

Even though I am only two years old, I am very good in the house.  I really like to hang around with my family, so I guess you could call me one of those Velcro dogs!  I especially like my foster parents' 3 yo boy, but I just love being with my humans.   I  LOVE to cuddle and get belly and ear scratches.

I am a little shy initially, but warm up pretty quickly when I get used to new people and a new home. I am very smart, I am eager to please and learn quickly.   I ride well in the car and am good with cats and dogs of all sizes, but probably would do best in a home either by myself or with one other dog...or cat!  I sometimes get lost in the shuffle if there are too many other pets in the house.

And, yes, I really do love to play ball!  Check back for my new pictures.  I am MUCH better looking than those mug shots over there!

ESRA#: 2008-1046NE
Status: Adopted

Age: 5 months
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Weight: 29 lbs
Variety: Bench

Oh my, this little puppy is such a doll! Maggie is a very sweet little black and white pup. She loves everything life has to offer. Maggie and Jäger (our three-year-old foster boy) love to play with each other and tumble and bounce around the house until both are tired out and are ready for puppy naps. Maggie then cuddles up on your lap and snuggles close for her snooze.

Maggie is a smart girl. She is already housetrained, walks pretty darn well on a leash, is invisible-fence trained and crate trained. She rides well in the car, alert and happy when you are in town, napping when you are on the road. She is certainly ready to learn any new commands you might like to teach her. She is a pleaser. Maggie is spayed and microchipped.

Want to know more? Contact her foster family, Clay and Julie Mohr, for more information and puppy stories about Maggie.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Maggie.

Lakewood, CO

ESRA # 2008-1020CO

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 52 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hi There!

I'm D.J. (stands for downright handsome and just dandy)!  And I've been told I am all of that!

My foster family says I am a fairly mellow, easy guy.  I ended up in rescue when my human died.  The rest of the family tried to care for me, but they had too many responsibilities and felt they just couldn't do right by me.  So I am looking for a new forever home.

Let me tell you about myself!  I get along well with children and other dogs.  Cats are an unknown.  I walk well on leash and I know my commands. I like to play with the kids (and the adults) and I let my foster father roughhouse with me without complaint.

What more could you ask for? Single, handsome, loving, and playful!  If you think you might be the right family for me, please let us know!

ESRA#: 2008-967UT
Status: Adopted

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 50 lbs
Variety: Field

How cute am I? I bet you can hardly stand it, either! You should see how cute I am in person.

Oh, where are my manners? My name is Grover. Some say it fits me. I like it because it is unique, like me. My family in Utah did not have time for me so they contacted the really nice people at ESRA. I hung out for awhile in my foster home in Utah with my foster brothers and sister. I liked all of them. Now that I am in Colorado, I have one super-cool, furry brother. He and his mom are taking the best care of me.

Well, here's a bit more about me. I love people and other dogs. Cats are really interesting, too. I think I am a pretty sweet and affectionate boy. I just can't think of a better place to be than cuddling with my people. I am five years young, I have respectable manners, but I am always happy to learn new things. I think I am a most excellent Springer!

I think you should really see how absolutely handsome and adorable I am in person!

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Grover.

DEXTER
Denver, CO

ESRA # 2008-0841UT

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 47 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hi there my name is Dexter!  I was brought to the shelter with my good buddy Casey by my previous owners because they had too many dogs at their house and couldn't keep us anymore.  That is really a shame, because everyone who meets me, says I am nearly the perfect dog!  So I can't figure out why anyone would let me go.

I am housetrained, and I get along well with the other dogs at my foster home.  I don't seem to mind cats, and I am as sweet as they come in the dog world!  I love attention, of course, because I am a very typical Springer!  I Sit very nicely for pets, and I will sit there all day long if you can keep the pets coming!!  I ride nicely in the car, and I did jump a short fence at my foster home, but I didn't run very far.  I came back when they called me, I was just trying to explore a little bit!  It sure is an exciting world out there!

I love to go for walks, and I am pretty good on a leash, if I do say so myself.  I am good with children, and I would like to stay with my buddy Casey, if you would be willing to take us both.  He follows me around everywhere, and we love to be together.  But if you want to be my Forever Family and only have room for one dog, I would be fine with that too, as long as my buddy Casey finds a Forever Home of his own!

Please talk to my foster mom and let her tell you more about my sweet and sparkling personality!  I would love to meet you and show you all my charms!!
Love, Dexter.

CASEY
Denver, CO

ESRA # 2008-0842UT

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 39 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hi everyone it's Casey here!  I am the good buddy of Dexter, you may have already heard something about me.  I was brought to the shelter with my good friend Dexter, by our previous owner, who had too many dogs at the house and couldn't keep us anymore.  Everyone tells me that I am a really great dog, and it is too bad that someone had to give me up!

I am housetrained, I ride well in the car, and I love to go to the dog park to play.  I am pretty good on a leash, and I am absolutely perfect off the leash according to my foster mom.  I am good with other dogs, and I don't seem to bother cats, either.  I love to be around my people, and I really need a lot of attention right now because I am feeling a little rejected from my last home.  I am kind of skinny for a young boy, so maybe you would be able to help me eat all my meat and potatoes, and help get me up to a proper weight.

I have a scar on my neck, but I haven't told anyone where it came from yet.  It might have been because my collar was too tight for a while, or maybe something else.  I really look up to my buddy Dexter, and I love to follow him around, he shows me the ropes!  So if I could be adopted with him, we would both be extra happy about that!!  But if we can find our own homes, and families to love us, in different places, we would be good with that too!

Just call my foster mom and she will tell you even more about my great and loving personality!  I really want to find a new Forever Family of my own!!
Love, Casey

BUBBA BUDDY
Laramie, WY

ESRA # 2007-1078NE

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 50 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Bubba Buddy is one good 'ol friend.  He woo woos when he is excited!  He loves his ears, belly and butt scratched and will snort, moan and lean into you the whole time he is getting attention.   Bubba is house trained, leash trained, invisible fence trained, and loves to ride shotgun in the car.  He  has not bothered the cat.  He has greeted children well, though he has not had a chance to interact with them.

Bubba has appreciated the vet care ESRA has provided for him!  He has had his eye and ear infections treated and is feeling quite silly these days.  He will cock his head a little to get a better look at the world as one eye has cataracts.  His body has a few lumps and bumps that come with age (we can relate!). Overall his health is good and he shows it by playing with the other seven Springers in the house.

Update 10 APR 08:  Buddy has settled in very well to his foster home. His foster mom reports that he is more relaxed every day and not quite so anxious when she leaves the room. Buddy gets along well with both dogs and people. He is very affectionate...don't you love those springer kisses. Buddy is well behaved and only barks when he wants something. He loves to run.  You would never know that he is ten-years-old. Buddy is looking for a home and family to love and to share those springer kisses with.

Bubba would love to remind you how great old friends are.  Remember that feeling?  Think Bubba Buddy.

dogpic

dogpic

ESRA#: 2008-896NE
Status: Adopted

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Weight: 35 lbs
Variety: Bench

Kola is a charmer!

This little black and white bench boy just wants to be your buddy. He is happiest when he is at your side or snuggling on your lap. He walks nicely on the leash, rides quietly in the car, is invisible-fence trained, and knows basic commands. He has made friends with all of the other dogs here and when his silly side sneaks up on him will tumble and play with them. He was introduced to the shop kitty and decided that cats are made for chasing. However, I think he could learn to live with one just fine.

Kola enjoys a good chew bone from time to time. He does not like to share his food with other dogs, but he will allow us to take his dog food from him while he is eating.

Overall he is just a super sweet boy that would love to have a warm bed and a family that will adore him.

SAGE
Harrisville, UT

ESRA # 2008-0933UT

Age: 5 months
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 20 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Beautiful little Sage would just love to meet you and your family!!  She would like to get to know you and tell you all about herself!  Sage is an absolutely darling 5 month old Springer, still in the fun puppy stages, but old enough to be learning her manners!!

Sage has had a few different homes in her young life, but her most recent home was very loving and kind and gave Sage a good start on some of her training.  Sage is house trained, knows how to use a doggy door and is learning very quickly not to jump on people.  She is great with other dogs and would like to play with the resident cat, at her foster home, but listens when she is told not to bother the cat.

Sweet little Sage loves to be with her family, and lay by her foster mom while she works on the computer.  She is great with children, and is learning good house manners.  She isn't too hyper, like most puppies are, but she does love to play and have fun!!  Sage is pretty good on a leash, but that is a skill she is also working on!  She is good in a crate and also rides well in the car.

One of her fun puppy tricks is to steal shoes, but so far she hasn't chewed any especially since she has lots of dog toys and treats to keep her busy!!  Sage is a delightful little girl who would love to find her forever home.  If you would like to meet her and give her a chance to take over your heart, please give us a call soon!!

WILLOW
Logan, UT

ESRA # 2008-0894UT

Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 32 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Please meet our sweet little girl, Willow... who runs like the wind...!!  Willow was lost in the mountains and taken to another kind rescue lady, who contacted ESRA about her, when the owner never called to claim her.  She is a beautiful little dog who is very cuddly, snuggly and loves smooching with her humans!  Willow is a super high energy dog and needs lots of room to run!  She does settle down well in the house, though, after a fun afternoon of chasing squirrels!!

Willow hasn't lived inside much because she didn't even know how to go up or down the stairs when she first got to her foster home.  She is working to perfect her house training skills and learning her basic commands.  Willow is good with other dogs and doesn't bark much.  She loves to run and run and run, but when she comes back to you, she will be running towards you at full speed, then come to a gentle stop right against your legs and lean against you to say, I Love You!

Willow really wants a family to love her, and a family to give all her sweet Springer love to, in return!!  She still needs some training on listening and returning when called, but she is a smart girl and she will learn fast!

Please give Willow a chance to show you what a darling little dog she is and find out if she is the right dog for your family!!

Say hi to beautiful Maya!  She is a very spry and active girl inspite of having nine years under her belt!!  She is extremely playful and full of life!  Maya enjoys playing with her furry brothers at her foster home.  She came from a loving home, but her family could not take her with them when they moved.  Maya lived with a companion dog and children in her previous home, so she is good with other dogs, loves children, doesn't bother with cats, and just loves to be loved!!  She really is just the perfect family dog!

GRACIE
Arnold, NE

ESRA # 2008-0552SD

Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 28 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

This is one special little girl!

She is a survivor of a puppy mill.  She is just turning 3 and has already produced litters.  She is so full of love, but is so unaware of the big world!   She needs a patient home that is willing to help her adjust to life.   So far we have been able to crate train, house train, and invisible fence train her.  She rides well in the car.  Gracie is excellent with other dogs, has been good with the cat, and does not have an aggressive bone in her body, though she does have a big dog bark.  She is learning to "walk" on a leash.  Right now she will belly crawl when ever there is something new.  She barks at the strangers on TV and snuggles for dear life whenever possible. She seems deathly afraid of children as she has probably never ever been exposed to kids, though she is comfortable with teens.  She will need extra work and patience to get over her fear of children.  She is not destructive, and can be left in her crate when you can not be with her.  Gracie loves treats which is a good motivator for her training.   She is just one small doll that will melt your heart.

If you have a quiet loving home, a warm lap, and a big heart.... Gracie needs you!

Age: 1 year

Weight: 35 lbs.

Hi, my name is Lucky Sullivan, and I am a very happy and active Springer!!  I am especially lucky now that I am out of the shelter, because I was rescued by some wonderful ESRA volunteers!  Then I made the long trip over to my beautiful foster home in Ouray.  I was such a good boy in the car and I traveled very well.  I love my foster home!  I really enjoy playing with my friends, two-legged and four-legged.  I even got to take a swim in the water trough!  I am housetrained.  I have good house manners.  I am very smart and I already know the commands Sit, Down and Come.  I like to play ball, and I always carry my stuffed toys around with me.

I have a handsome full tail, and I have a beautiful rich brown and white coat.  I would love to meet you in person, because my pictures just don't do me justice, if I do say so myself!!  I get along very well with other dogs, there are several at my foster home, and I am learning about cats.  My foster mom will have to let you know how that goes!

I am very affectionate, loving, and I would really like to have a Forever Family of my own soon!  I know I would make a great addition to your family.  Please talk to my foster mom and find out if you are the perfect family for me.  If I become the newest furry member of your family, then we will all be very Lucky!!

MAVERICK
Evergreen, CO

ESRA # 2008-0788CO

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 45 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Hello Springer Lovers!

Maverick...an independent being who doesn't go along with the group.  That sure isn't me!  (I kind of like my name, anyway, though.)

I love hanging out with the foster family and my foster brothers.  I am totally what they call a Velcro dog!  I am very affectionate and love snuggling with my family.  I love riding in the car and I don't talk very much.

I was pretty sick after my foster mom took me in.  I had gotten kennel cough in the shelter and I didn't get better, even with the pills I took.  It turns out that I got pneumonia and had to spend a couple of days off and on with the vet in order to get well.  I was one sick puppy!  But now I am working on getting back to normal and being the happy, smiley, and playful self that I usually am.  The vet said I will make a full recovery. Whew!  Glad that is over.

So if you think you might be the right family for a Maverick who isn't a maverick, give us a holler!

Update 15 SEP 08: Well, folks, I am feeling a whole lot better.  And guess what? I still have a lot of pup in me, and I love to play!  I am energetic, and the vet and my foster parents have decided that I am a little younger than we first thought.

I really like to have fun and am looking for a family that wants to play! Check out my new picture!

You must meet Doocher, or Doochie, as he is affectionately known!!  He is a wonderful Springer that is full of life and energy!!  He loves to go for walks and is getting better about walking on a leash.  He is house trained, and crate trained, he rides well in the car and is good with the other dogs at his foster home.  However, Doochie is not so good with cats!  He sees red and wants to charge towards them at full speed!!  So his foster family is working with him to see if he can get along better with cats, and not bother them as much.

Doochie loves to go outside, and look around, but he alwsys comes right back to the house and his family when he is called.  He has the absolute curliest Springer ears you have ever seen!!  Maybe he took a trip to the doggie salon and had them permed, you never know!  Doocher is a sweet and lovable brother to Alli.  They have been together all their lives, after Doochie got here from Kansas, and have even traveled to Mexico with their previous owners.  So Doocher might even be a bilingual Springer Spaniel!!  Their previous family retired from working and decided they wanted to travel the world more, and didn't want to have to leave Doochie and Alli behind all the time.  They were very well taken care of in their previous home.  But now they need a new, loving forever home!!

Doochie loves his rawhide bones and he loves his people even more!  He is a very velcro Springer who just wants to plop on the couch and wait for someone to rub his belly!  What could be better than that!!

If you would be interested in adopting Doocher please call us soon and find out more about this darling dog!  He could be your new best friend forever!!

ALLI
Fairview, UT

ESRA # 2008-0870UT

Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 51 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Please meet Alli!!  She is the sweet sister to Doocher, who you may have already met!  Alli is a very velcro Springer and wants to be with her people at all times.  In fact, she stays so close to her foster mom, that whenever she turns around, she almost falls over Alli!

Alli is house trained, crate trained and rides well in the car.  She also loves to go for walks and is pretty good on a leash.  Alli is fine with cats and pretty good with other dogs.  Although she does love to be the center of attention, with her brother Doochie, and she gets a little jealous when other dogs want some pets from her family too.  Alli may be happier in a new home with only her brother to share the attention from the family!

Alli is a very loving dog and just wants to be loved in return.  She had a good life and was well taken care of in her previous home.  However, her other family needed to travel too much, and didn't want to leave Alli and Doochie home alone all the time.  So Alli is looking for a wonderful, new home and family to enjoy her life with!  Alli will sit for treats, with some encouragement, and her foster family is helping her to learn some basic commands.  She has some pretty curly Springer ears, but not quite as curly as her brother's!  Alli is a well traveled dog, and has even spent quite a bit of time in Mexico!!  Ole'!

Alli loves to lay on the couch and have her belly rubbed!  She can be a little bit bossy with her brother, but only because she loves him so much, you know how that is!  If you think Alli might be the right dog for your family, please call us soon, she would love to meet you!

CALLIE
Salt Lake City, UT

ESRA # 2008-0831UT

Age: 10 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 24 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Callie is a tiny, gentle, loving, sweet and very beautiful Springer!  She was given up by her previous family because they had older children that had gone off to school and no one left at home had the time to give her the love and attention she needed.  Callie spends a good deal of her day snoozing in her doggie bed, or snuggled up next to her foster mom on the sofa while she watches television.  She is a pretty low maintenance kind of girl, she just wants to enjoy life these days!!

Callie is a little hard of hearing, and moves slower than the young dogs.  She escapes out the door now and then, but only trots a few houses away before her foster mom catches up to her, to bring her home.  No running required, but it is best to put her on a leash when she is outside.  Callie walks very well on a leash.

Callie doesn't jump on the furniture unless she is invited, she rides well in the car, and gets along fine with the family cat.  She is housetrained, and uses the doggy door like a champ.  She doesn't play with the other dogs in the house, but she does go outside with them to see what is happening in the backyard.  She likes all the other dogs at her foster home, and she doesn't have any bossy issues at all.

Callie is a very sweet senior dog who would love a new Forever Family to enjoy her golden years with.  She has so much love to give, and lots of joy that she will bring to her new family. Wouldn't you like to meet Callie and see if she is the right golden girl for you?

PATCHES
Lakewood, CO

ESRA # 2008-0795UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hello Everyone! Guess you can figure out why my name is Patches.  I am a good boy who is loving the life of a house dog.  My foster family has helped learn what it means to be an indoor dog and they tell me I am very sweet!

Just before I made my trip over the mountains, my Utah foster mom discovered that I had heartworm disease.  Now that I am settled here in Colorado, I have started treatment and so far, so good!  I have a light case and the vet says the outlook is very good for my recovery. I just have to a very quiet boy for a few weeks while the medicine does its job!

In the meantime, I'm just totally enjoying all the pampering my foster parents are giving me.  Life could be alot worse! More to come.

CHIPPER
Arnold, NE

ESRA # 2008-0665NE

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Meet Chipper (Chippie),

He is just too sweet to be called just Chip!  This year old dog is one of the calmest young springers we have ever fostered.  He is extremely easy going and seems to love just about everyone and everything including children and cats.   He walks well on the leash, rides quietly in the car, is house trained, invisible fence trained and knows basic commands.  He will bark at new people and dogs, but his tail is wagging the whole time - and with a full tail, that is a lot of wagging!   With a little training I am sure he can be encouraged not to greet with a bark.  He is fun as a young Springer should be.  He does limp after exercise, so that is being checked out by the veterinarian.   We will update any findings on this. Chippie is so handsome he will not be in our care long!   Such a nice boy.

Please contact Clay and Julie Mohr, his foster parents for more information.

PEPPER
Moab, UT

ESRA # 2008-0760UT

Age: 2-1/2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 42 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hi, my name is Pepper.  My foster mom calls me Chili Pepper because I add just enough spice to make life interesting!  I was picked up as a stray, and didn't like the shelter at all, but since I came to live with my foster mom, dad, and two furry foster brothers, I have really bloomed into a sweet and loveable young lady!  I am housetrained, crate trained, and I don't bark much unless there is a very good reason.  I sleep on my dog bed all night and stay home with my foster brothers all day while mom and dad work.

I am kind of a pack dog, I would probably do best if I had other dogs around or people that were home a lot.  I really like kids.  When I went to work with my dad at his barbershop for a couple of days, I loved the kids who came in to play with me and pet me.  I haven't snipped, snapped or been otherwise unruly at my foster home.  I have very good house manners.  I am spayed, of course, and current on all my shots, so I don't have to worry anymore about that!!

I walk very well on a leash, and I don't run off when I am not on my leash.  I like to stay right with my mom when we go places together, even to the vet.  I really love to ride in the car, especially in the front seat.  That was my foster brother's favorite spot, but now it's mine!!  You should see how cool we look going for a ride with three Springers in a cute red Volkswagen convertible!!  I don't mind cats at all, they really don't interest me, unless they want to snuggle up on the couch or something.

My foster mom says I am an exceptional dog, whatever that means!!  I don't dig holes, I haven't had any accidents, and I am used to living in the house.  I mind very well and I know the commands, no, come and down.  I don't run away because I really love people and other dogs too.  I am just a sweetheart according to everyone who knows me!

If you need just the right amount of spice in your life, please check me out!!

DUMONT
Boulder, CO

ESRA # 2008-627CO

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 42 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hi my name is Dumont.  I am a very sweet, handsome boy. I don't know why, but my family dumped me in a strange yard. Another family found me and took me to the local shelter. Thank goodness ERSA came to save me!

I have done great at my foster home; I totally enjoy my dog siblings, and have learned some new tricks like the doggie door. I ride well in a car. I just smile and walk by my foster sister kitty, so I could probably live with a kitty too. I am a bit shy and submissive, and will need someone who will build up my confidence and help me feel secure!

My Foster Mom took me to the park and I did well in greeting individual children, but was a bit frightened when one boy was bouncing a basketball. I guess I like things a little quieter.

I don't bark, walk well on my leash and I am doing some refresher training on Sit, Stay, and Come commands. I think I may have missed those classes in my earlier life. I am having my neuter surgery this week, and then I should be ready to find my Forever Home. Everyone who has met me remarks about how sweet and gentle I am.  Hope you think I'm the dog for you!

ELLIE
Rock Springs, WY

ESRA # 2008-0756WY

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 30 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Ellie was found as a stray out in the country in the middle of nowhere.  She was brought to a shelter but she was very unhappy there. They called ESRA so she could be placed in a foster home.

Ellie is a very friendly, outgoing dog and loves to be with people.  Ellie is 1-2 years old and she is a liver/white field bred springer.  She has beautiful golden eyes and is a little on the smaller side.  Ellie gets along with other dogs and does not show any aggression. She loves people and she looks like she is smiling.  When she goes to wag her tail, her whole body wags.  Ellie walks nicely on a leash and comes when she is called.  Ellie is a velcro dog and enjoys being with you. She is house trained and is learning about crate training.  Ellie rides well in the car.  She is very smart and learns new things quickly.  She knows the command, Sit and she doesn't beg at the table.  Ellie is pretty mellow and doesn't jump up.  She loves to sit on the couch and cuddle with people.   She is eager to please and very easy to train.  Ellie is as sweet as can be and just wants to be with you.

She would love a family that would include her in all their activities.  If you are interested in our sweet Ellie, please fill out an application.

SPENCER
Lone Tree, CO

ESRA # 2008-0774CO

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 45 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Spencer is one the friendliest Springers you will have the pleasure of meeting.  He wants nothing more than to be someone's special boy.

One of the things that make Spencer so special (besides his great attitude and joy for life) is the fact that he is deaf. When Spencer was turned into the shelter his previous owner said that he did not respond to them.  Apparently, Spencer's hearing was never tested.  Even though Spencer cannot hear the world around him, it has not dampened his spirit.  He is an outgoing fellow, likes everyone he meets, and is as easy going as they come.  Spencer has a great smile and a bounce in his step.  He is absolutely delightful.

Spencer will require a home that is willing and able to spend the time he needs to adjust to his new home and life.  If you are looking for a family member who will steal your heart at first meeting, then Spencer is your guy!

BELLE
Castle Rock, CO

ESRA # 2008-0787UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 38 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Let me introduce myself! I am the Rocky Mountain ESRA Belle of the Ball! I'm a Utah girl who came across the mountains to Colorado with four, yes indeed, four boys, so don't you think I earned the name?

My foster family thinks I'm pretty special!  They take me on hikes and rides in the car.  And they play with me forever out in the backyard.  I am a field-bred girl and love to check out the wildlife.  I get along very well with my foster sisters, and I did well at the dog park, but I really love to be with my people. And I really want to please!

I enjoy the busy family life at my foster home. I would be happy as an only dog, or would do well with doggy friend as well.

If you think you might be the right Forever Home for me, please the ESRA people know!

P.S. I am much prettier than my picture  :-)

DUKE
Aurora, CO

ESRA # 2008-0616UT

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 43 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Duke is a pretty tough sounding name for the sweet, loving boy who came to us from the Utah countryside.  Duke found a way into the hearts of his Utah foster family, and is already working on his Colorado foster mom!

He is a fairly low-key guy, who has had a bit of a rough time lately.  Just after he came into our rescue, he was diagnosed with heartworm disease, fortunately at a very low level.  He was successfully treated, and has his final check-up in early September.

Duke has done a great job of getting along with his foster brother and foster cat sister.  He just seems to take everything in stride. He is housetrained, and rides well in the car. He still needs to learn some of the basic commands and is doing so with the help of his foster mom.

This handsome boy is looking for a loving person or people that he can call his Forever Family.  He's ready to work his way into your heart, too!

TAYLOR
Denver, CO

ESRA # 2008-0372CO

Age: 3-4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 35 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hi my name is Taylor and I was found wandering the streets, so no one knows anything about my past.  I am a very friendly guy who loves everybody and gets along well with other dogs.  I like my foster Dad's daughter and her friends, who are 10 years old.  I seem to have a fixation on cats, so cats are a no-no for me.

Since my name is new to me. I am still learning to respond to it.  My foster Dad says I walk really great on a leash, but my new owners would do well to enroll me in a basic obedience class.  I am house trained and do not counter surf.  I do well in my doggie crate. I love to ride in cars. I have a moderate energy level for a springer and like to play with balls.  This could be why I have a broken canine tooth.

MILKSHAKE
Grand Lake, CO

ESRA # 2008-0644UT

Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 42 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

Take a lot of fun, a bunch of sweetness and a whole ton of love, mix it together and you will have our little Milkshake!!  She is a wonderful combination of loving, happy, smiling, excited Springer!  Milkshake is a darling girl who really loves to be in the house.  We think she may have been an outside dog before ESRA picked her up from the shelter.  She has been to the doggie salon already and she is looking beautiful now!

Milkshake is just as yummy as her name!  She is very friendly and has made many friends in the short time she has been in her foster home.  She is very good with children, cats, other dogs and even great with guests, in her foster home.  She is housetrained and rides very well in the car.  Getting into the car is another story, she just doesn't like that part for some reason!  Her foster mom has to pick her up and put her in the car.  After that, she has a grand time riding around and checking out the world!!

In her history we were told that Milkshake had trouble chasing kids on skateboards.  However, when a small child on a scooter came riding down the driveway recently at her foster home, she paid no attention to him at all.  The yard at her foster home is fenced and she loves to play there without ever trying to escape.  Milkshake is a true Springer in that she can jump about 3 feet in the air from a standing position!!  That's impressive!  She gets very excited when her foster family comes home and that's when she does her big air jumps!!  Milkshake is also a smiling dog, not too many dogs can do that, but Milkshake has it mastered, and her foster family loves it!

She knows her name when you call her, but she will need a little more work with other commands.  She likes to be with her family and follows them everywhere!  She is a very well behaved girl, and she might possibly be younger than her age states.  A sweet Milkshake sure sounds good for a hot summer day!  Come meet her to find out more!!

PETEY
Parker, CO

ESRA # 2008-0533WY

Age: 18 months
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 45 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Hi,

My name is Petey and I came to the rescue as a stray. I don't know why no one claimed me.  They tell me I am really a sweet and loving boy.  I try really hard to be a good boy. My foster mom says I am a mellow boy and I love to cuddle.

I am about 2-3 yrs old.  I am a black and white, bench-bred neutered male, and I am up to date on all my shots.  I am good with children, and I get along with other dogs. I do not like cats or ferrets at all, and love to chase them. I am housetrained, and my foster mom is crate training me.  She says I am good in the crate at night and when no one is home.  I know commands like Sit and Down. I know I could learn more commands if I had a family that would spend some time with me and train me.

I would love a home that has another dog, and people who like to cuddle. It would be great to have a family that could spend some time with me and play with me.  If you think you are the family for me, please fill out an application.  I can hardly wait to find my new home.

Update 25 JUN 08: Petey can be a bit of an escape artist and his been known to jump a four-foot fence. He does come back when you call him. Petey just wants to explore.  He will need a family that has a six-foot fence around the yard.  He is so sweet with those sad eyes that you can't help to love him.

BUDDY
Lakewood, CO

ESRA # 2008-0562WY

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hi. Buddy is a fourteen-month-old, liver and white, neutered male.  Buddy is quite the character, and enjoys mugging for the camera.  He is very sweet, and loves to play with other dogs. He is housetrained and crate trained. Buddy tends to be a bit alpha. He likes to be with people and learning new things. He knows Sit, and is willing to learn more new commands from a new family.

Water is one of his favorite things. He drinks out of the hose, splashes in the kiddie pool, and even runs through the sprinkler like a true pro. In fact, sprinklers are to be played in, and are not just for watering the lawn.  Buddy  likes to play tug of war, too.

He is very gentle at taking treats, and does not have a shy bone in his body.  He knows he's cute, and he knows people appreciate his cuteness.  Buddy is learning not to jump up when he is excited. He has a moderate activity level, and would enjoy a daily romp in the dog park, or a nice brisk walk.  Playing with his dog friends is very rewarding.

Buddy would do great in a home with children ten years and up.  He wants to be part of the family, and works hard at making you laugh.

STRIPER
Evergreen, CO

ESRA # 2008-0285NE

Age: Senior
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 52 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Heeeere's.......Striper!!  Striper is not your usual 14-year-old gentleman.  You would never guess from his spry steps and his gorgeous appearance that he is getting up in years.  He is a very gentle dog in spite of dealing with some pretty harsh living conditions most of his life.  Even with the difficulties of his previous life he is still the sweetest and most loving dog you could ever meet.  He had firecrackers thrown into his kennel in the early years, which of course, made him very gun shy.  In his day he was also a hunting champion!  Striper is an AKC registered dog, but he doesn't let that go to his head!!  He loves all other dogs, in fact he has spent quite a few of the past years sharing his kennel with a beautiful French Brittany Spaniel, and they are the best of friends!  Striper is also good with cats and loves children.  He is a very social dog and enjoys people of all ages!  He loves attention and as a typical Springer, feels he can never get enough!!

But what's not to love about a dog who is easy going, obedient, playful and friendly!  Striper also rides well in a car and walks very nicely on a leash, no pulling at all. So he would be happy to go with you anywhere!  He is house trained, though he hasn't spent much time indoors lately, before being taken into rescue.  In his younger years he might have been known to climb out of his 8 ft. kennel.  But now that he's a bit more settled in life, I don't think that would be so much of a problem.

Striper's previous owner had to leave town and wasn't able to take Striper and his friend Brittany along, so they had to stay behind with a very kind neighbor watching out for them.  This special dog just needs a lot of love and attention in his remaining years to let him know how much love he still has to give and what a VID (Very Important Dog) we know that he is!!!  Can you take Striper into your heart and your home to give him the love that he deserves?

Please call about Striper today!

COCOA

Before a haircut

And after the "trim"

Yes, clipped, really!

ESRA # 2008-0569UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 32 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Maybe next winter you would love to be sipping hot cocoa by the fire and cuddling up with...Cocoa!  I am a real snuggle bug lady!!  Would you believe a volunteer with the shelter that I came from thought I was a boy!  How preposterous for a lovely lady like myself!!  I might see how they got confused though, I did have a wild hair thing going on...which is not my style at all!  I just hadn't made it to the groomers in quite a while.  Then I had a hernia down in the middle of my tummy, which gave them the wrong idea.  So when my foster mom took me to the vet, she was pleasantly surprised when he said I was one hundred percent lady!!  I got my rabies shot so I could go the the groomers and be clean and beautiful again!  Wow did I love that!!  A few days later I went back to the vet to have my hernia fixed and the abscess' drained from my toes where there were terrible thorns stuck in them.  Now I really feel like a million bucks!!

I get along very well with my furry foster sister.  She likes me a lot, and I don't mind her one bit, even when she teases me!  The cranky house cat doesn't phase me either.  There is a cute, little boy at my foster home, and he is really busy.  But I don't bother him and he doesn't bother me! What I really like to do is sit on my foster mom's lap...all day long if she'd let me!  My foster mom says I am a real people dog and definitely a lap dog.  I am not at all hyper, and after I check things out in the house, I settle down very well. I am house trained, but I do need some help learning to walk on a leash.  I would love to be your cup of Cocoa!!

Please give my foster mom a call and come to visit me.  What I want the most is a happy home and a loving family to play with me!!  I haven't had much of that for a long time.

My foster home and family are great, but I just want a home and family to call my own!!

Love, Cocoa

COOPER
Lakewood, CO

ESRA #2008-0597UT

Age: 6 months
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

This is Cooper!  He is a beautiful and very smart puppy.  Cooper is just 6 months old, but he is growing fast and will probably become a very good sized dog!!  Cooper loves to play fetch, although he hasn't quite mastered the part where he brings it back to you yet!  He will need someone to teach him that important part of this new game!!

Cooper is a fun loving Springer puppy that is full of life and loves to play.  He was an outside dog so he really doesn't quite know what to think about all the wonderful things inside the house, but he's catching on fast!  He hasn't had any accidents in the house so far.  His foster mom lets him out quite regularly and he knows exactly what to do when he gets outside!  I told you he was a smart dog!

Cooper will lay quietly in his crate, but he isn't all that excited about going into the crate.  However he is getting better about walking in by himself now.  Cooper gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and really loves playing with the younger puppies in the front yard!

Cooper is not good with cats.  He does very well on a leash, and loves to go for walks!!

Cooper doesn't bark at all and he doesn't jump on the little boy at his foster home.  He does very well with children and only wanted to jump on his foster mom to thank her for everything she did for him!!  Cooper really loves to be loved, and he will flop on his back anytime he can talk you into a nice tummy rub!

Would you love to meet Cooper and see if he is the right Springer puppy to bring lots of love and fun into your life and home?  Please contact us soon to find out more about Cooper.

LOLA
Fairview, UT

ESRA # 2008-0509UT

Age: 5 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 35 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Her name is Lola and she is definitely a show girl!!  You really need to meet this darling dog and let her show you her bag of tricks!  Lola can sit, shake (with both paws), speak and will even give you a high five for a treat!  Then for the grand finale Lola will come running over, drop to the ground, roll over and sit up, waiting for her reward!  This is one multi-talented Springer!!  Wouldn't she be a fun addition to your family?

Lola is the sweetest little dog ever!  She came from a shelter, and it is a mystery why any family wouldn't try to find this precious girl!  Lola is completely housetrained, she sleeps soundly through the night, cuddled next to her favorite two-legged foster brothers.  She likes to go for walks and jogs, and she is very good on a leash.  She could probably use a little more exercise because she is a small girl, but she sort of waddles when she walks!

Lola likes to chase those cute birds in the yard, but never can quite catch them, and she always comes back to the house when she's done chasing.  Lola will go in her crate when you ask her to, and likes to ride in the car, but she does get a little too excited about everything she can see, and will run from window to window to make sure she doesn't miss anything!!

Lola is quite the lovable little cuddle bug and wants to follow along and be with you where ever you go!  She just wants to be loved and have as much attention as she can possibly get!  What self-respecting Springer doesn't?  Lola is very quiet, she doesn't bark much at all, except when you ask her to speak! She isn't all that fond of other dogs, so she might do best as the only dog in the house.  That way she can show off and practice her tricks without any distractions!  She is very well behaved and just needs a new family of her own to love.

Even the vet called her Lola, the showgirl, and she would love to show you all her talents!  Make sure you call soon, and don't take a chance on missing the opportunity to meet Lola!

DARBY
Denver, CO

ESRA # 2008-0630UT

Age: 2-1/2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 30 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Meet little Darby who is as cute as a button!  She is just a tiny dancer who is very light on her feet and loves to dance and prance everywhere!!  Darby is a very sweet dog and a very easy foster girl.  She is housetrained and learned the doggy door very quickly.  Darby is great with other dogs, and good with cats.  She walks well on a leash, which is pretty nice for a young Springer Spaniel!!

Darby is the definition of a velcro dog, she wants to be attached to her people at all times!  She promises to follow you to the ends of the earth, or wherever you go!!  She rides very well in the car and has taken several long car trips already to prove herself.  We don't know much about Darby's background, because she came in to the shelter as a stray.  However, she did not like being at the shelter, and had a very hard time staying there until our volunteer could rescue her!  The people at the shelter were very kind and loving to her and helped her put up with things until she was able to find a wonderful foster home with ESRA.

Darby is a very loving dog who wants to have fun and please you!  She loves to play fetch and is very good at that game.  Darby is such a smart dog, she already knows how to sit and should be able to learn all her basic commands in no time at all.

Check out our tiny dancer and see how quickly she will leap into your heart!!  Please call to meet Darby today!

MOLLY
Rock Springs, WY

ESRA # 2008-0532WY

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 45 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Molly is a beautiful two-year-old Springer Spaniel. She is spayed and current on all her vaccinations. Molly would like an active home and loves to hunt birds in the back yard. She sure can flush those robins right out of the tree!

Molly is a very well behaved dog in the house, and is an easy dog to have around. Molly knows Sit, Down, Go Lay Down, and "Do you want to go outside?". She is housetrained, and gets along with other dogs.

Molly would do best with a gentle leader because she is always looking to find those birds. Molly could still use some leash training. She loves the water and really likes the kiddie pool. The kiddie pool comes in handy for cooling off the paws after chasing all those birds. Molly also likes playing with a ball and used to steal golf balls off the golf course.  Molly likes being a busy girl.  Molly takes her treats very gently and seems to like men the best.

Molly would do best in a active home with adults, and children 13 or older.

RIO
Silt, CO

ESRA # 2008-629CO

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 33 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Hi my name is RIO and I am a very happy, high energy boy. I love to go for walks but could use some training on proper leash walking, they say I pull a bit. I have never had obedience classes, so that it probably why. Actually, I am a pretty smart fellow.. My foster parents are working on teaching me the basic commands, SIT, STAY, COME, and I am picking things up very quickly.

My former Mom had grand children and a cat and got along well with everyone. I will bark at cats when I see them outside, but that's my job. I also got along well with other dogs who visited. I am housetrained and good around the house. I also behave myself at the groomer.

I am looking for a family who will love me and finish my education, so I can be someone's perfect little boy.

DAISY
Parker, CO

ESRA # 2008-0610UT

Age: 18 months
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Miss Daisy is as sweet and beautiful as the flower she is named for!  She came from a home that didn't like her very much and only wanted her for the puppies she would produce. When our volunteer went to pick her up, she wouldn't even walk as they got her out of the crate.   She was so timid and shy that she would only crawl on her belly for fear of what might happen to her.  As soon as she left her previous home and went to the foster home, she became a new dog!!  She was friendly and social, going up to every dog and every person in the house to meet and greet them all!  Poor Daisy, all she needed was a happy home where she would be loved!

Daisy is such darling and gentle dog.  She loves to be loved and be close to her people.  She is crate trained, and is working on her house training.  She is very good with other dogs, cats and loves children.  She has been having a lot of fun playing in the front yard with the cute puppies also in foster care, at her foster home.  Daisy is very good while riding in the car.

Sweet little Daisy will need some extra love and care from her new family.  She has been through some hard times.  She has so much love to give!  She can't wait to find her forever home!  Daisy is very smart and willing to please, so she should be able to learn all the basics of living in her new home, in no time at all!

Won't you please pick Daisy to be a new member of your family?  Call us today and see if Daisy is the dog to lighten and brighten your home!!

CIMMI
Denver, CO

ESRA #2008-0274UT

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 39 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

Cimmi is a beautiful bench bred Springer who was released to a Utah shelter when her family moved. When we got her from the shelter she was very dirty, matted, smelly, had a sore on her tail and an ear infection...a bit of a rough time for this lovely girl. Cimmi is now healthy, active and newly groomed!

She is housetrained, crate trained and does very well off leash. She needs a bit of work on her leash, but is learning quickly. She loves her walks on the trail and is once again showing her Springer joy!  Cimmi fits in quite well with other dogs and has no issue with cats. Cimmi is very well behaved in the house - she does not get on the furniture and does not counter surf.  She is a moderately active and loves her runs on the trail.

Cimmi is most comfortable with women and but will warm up to men with a gentle touch. She is learning to trust her people and comes to her family for treats and affection.  She would do best in a home with adults or older children.  She probably would have a hard time in a very active, busy household.  She is a quiet girl. Cimmi had a tough time in life before she came into rescue and she really wants and needs a new, loving Forever Home to give her the happy years ahead that she deserves!

Please give contact Lin and Jim if you think Cimmi might be right for you!

ALFRED
Denver, CO

ESRA #2008-0084CO

Age: 3-4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

Alfred is a very sweet natured guy who is anxious to please.  He has that Springer "Velcro" personality and will be devoted to his family. If he knows you, he will get excited and TALK to you, to greet you. He is crate trained and even goes there on his own.  He knows how to heel and will walk well on leash, but also loves to run full out if you let him.  He sits on command and when given his dinner, he will stay until given the "OK, good boy" permission to eat.

In spite of his hip and leg pain in the past, he is athletic.  Alfred has had two surgeries to correct hip and knee problems, and is ready to roll.  He loves to run, chases balls (and sometimes brings them back), and plays tug.  He absolutely LOVES water.  He is a strong swimmer and is crazy about the garden hose.  His Foster Mom says that he is also exuberant at the water dish

He gets along with other dogs and doesn't have alpha tendencies.  Alfred is definitely trainable and responds very well to treats as reinforcement. He really fits well into a routine and will even anticipate the next thing that is going to happen.  Alfred is taking one pill a day to help him relax and enjoy his new life without pain. He will do best in an environment that offers consistency and patience, possibly one with adults only or older children.

BOOMER
Arnold, NE

ESRA # 2007-819NE

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Boom Boom is the sound your heart will make when you fall in love with this rescued boy!

Boomer was abandoned, left to fend for himself in a rural area.  Starved and lonely, he was captured by a sweet woman who provided vet care that saved his life. Now that he is in rescue, he can count on full-time care to put on about fifteen needed pounds.

Boom Boom had been someone's special boy at one time. He knows basic commands, and will speak or shake for treats.  He rides quietly in the car, unless he is crated. He is housetrained and invisible fence trained.  He adores people, and quickly attaches himself in a household. He gets along well with younger, submissive male dogs, and does great with female dogs of all ages. He is still inhaling his food as if it were his last meal, so you should be cautious of leaving food unattended, or casually carrying your own food at his level, as he might seek the opportunity to fill up an empty spot on his boney body!

He is a big boy with a big kissy-face. He thinks that laps were invented just for him, and he also enjoys chairs, couches, and beds!  Oh the good life!    Boomer just wants to live it.  Please respond if you can offer it.

Update 20 JAN 08:  Boomer has filled out to be a very handsome boy weighing in at around 57lbs!  His personality is also filling out.  He is a dominant dog, and would do best as an only dog .  He also shows signs of separation anxiety when left alone.   On a good note he knows and minds his commands like a machine.  He is very trainable, and with a very dog wise person, would absolutely shine!

Update 06 MAY 08:  Boomer is learning new things.  He is crate trained, and can stay by himself all day.  He is a dog that thrives on routine.  An adopting family will have to allow time, and be willing to be patient, as Boom adjusts to their pattern of life.   He is one loyal dog, and takes care of everything in his world!  You can see Boomer in action in the field at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo9jCDk5V9o

He is intense in all of his actions; he snuggles hard, eats with gusto, plays till you say enough, and is ready for a run, ride, or outing at any time.  He will bond to you quickly, and expect the same.   He works the field well, and has the endurance to hunt all day.  I would recommend that he be trained with the Nothing In Life is Free (NILF) method of training, get plenty of exercise, and be given a job.

JAKE
Casper, WY

ESRA # 2008-0380WY

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 50 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hi, my name is Jake.  I am a purebred 4-year-old neutered, liver/white Springer, and I am up to date on all my shots.   I love to run and check out everything in the yard, so a big yard would be really good for me.  I am housetrained and crate trained.  I love to ride in the car. I get along great with other dogs. I am eager to please and I learn fast. I am a typical Springer with lots of energy. My foster mom says I am loving and have a sweet disposition.

I am looking for a family that can give me lots of love and attention.  I would like an active family that could spend some time playing with me.  I am good with children but I tend to be a little hyper, so older children would be best.  I can't wait to find my Forever Home.

If you feel you are the family for me, please fill out an application.

P.S.  They couldn't get a close up shot of me because it is hard to stay still that long.

SANTE
Salt Lake City, UT

A "before" shot of Sante

ESRA #2007-1074UT

Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 30 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Sante is our little Christmas Santa girl!  She was our amazing Christmas gift from the shelter, where we found her cold, lost and shivering in her kennel a few days before Christmas.  We could hardly wait to get her out of there, take her home, wrap her in a warm blanket and snuggle up with her on the couch!!  It wasn't much of a surprise when the vet told us she only weighed 21 lbs.  That was pretty evident from her protruding hips, ribs and just about every other little bone in her tiny body!! But Sante was a fighter and she really wanted a second chance at the wonderful life she hadn't gotten before!  She over came gigantic odds and numerous difficulties to start back on the road to health and recovery!!

Sante is about the sweetest, most loving dog her foster mom has ever had.  She will need a home that appreciates her desire to snuggle up next to her family on the sofa, on the bed, or anywhere you are!!  She just wants to be with you.  Sante is very well behaved, she has learned to use the doggy door and gets along well with the pack of foster brothers and sisters at her home.  She mostly just watches the resident cat with great interest.  Sante might be best with a dog savy cat only, since she may eventually decide to give the cat a good chase!  Sante doesn't seem to need much exercise and would probably be the happiest in a home where someone can be with her most of the time.

She travels well in the car and doesn't mind waiting while you do your errands.  Her skills on a leash are pretty good, she doesn't pull, and trots along side easily.  Although Sante is hungry all of the time, she is very gentle when given treats.  She does have some interesting skills however!  Sante can graze the countertop like a bigger dog would and knows how to tip a large garbage can in an instant, but only if it has something in it!!  Sante is a doll when it comes to her kennel.  She hops right in and snuggles up on her blanket.  She will sleep in her kennel, but prefers to sleep with her people like any good dog!

Sante is a special girl and needs an extra special home!!

HUNTER
Lone Tree, CO

ESRA # 2008-0500UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 48 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

This beautiful dog is Hunter, and he is definitely hunting for a loving new home!  Hunter is still young and very active, but he is a lot of fun!!  He came to us because his previous family didn't have enough time to spend with him. He spent a lot of time outside in his previous home, and now Hunter really wants someone to play with him, teach him, and give him the great life he deserves.

Hunter is crate trained, and good with children.  He also loves other dogs, and enjoys playing with the group at his foster home.  Hunter loves to ride in trucks!!  Every time he sees a truck drive by his yard, he gets very excited and wants to go for a ride!  He still needs to be better at walking on a leash, and his foster mom is working with him on this skill.  She says he is coming along quite well in his training.  Hunter is a good listener and minds very well.  He does not get along with cats!

If you are hunting for a sweet and very lovable Springer, then Hunter is definitely your guy!  He would love to meet you and show you what a wonderful member of your family he could be!!  Call us soon to find out more about Hunter!

RANGER
Ouray, CO

ESRA #2008-0419CO

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 50 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Ranger was found as a stray in the Pueblo area.  When pulled from the shelter in Pueblo he had pneumonia.  He is now on the road to recovery, thanks to the loving care at his Foster Home,

Ranger is an affectionate, outgoing dog who has never met a person he didn't like.  This boy is house trained and uses a doggie door. He will sit and beg for attention and will lie at your feet or nuzzle your hand for pets. He is a handsome boy with a full tail. His favorite toy is a rawhide chew.

Ranger would do best as the only dog, in an adult home, or one with older children.   While he generally gets along with the dogs in his foster home, he has gotten into several tussles recently. None of these appear to be food or toy related.  It is possible these issues may be caused by the anxiety of all the changes he has been through recently. Ranger exhibits no aggression to humans and readily gives up his food bowl or toy to his foster parents  He is looking for a Forever Home were he can relax and be someone's special Springer boy.

Age: 10 months
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 43 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Heeeeeeerrrrrrrrrre’s Zeb!!  Zeb is an energetic, playful and loving pup who is looking for his fun-filled forever home.  He is full of life and Zeb just wants to have fun.

Zeb is one of the happiest Springers you will have the joy of meeting.  He wiggles, smiles and wiggles some more.  He loves to play with his foster brother.  Zeb loves it when you talk to him, throw the ball for him, and take him for walks.  Zeb really likes to carry a toy around in his mouth ~ he is ready to play at a moments notice!  His leash manners are wonderful for a puppy.  He rides quite well in the car, is crate trained and has been accident free in the house for awhile now.  Zeb has learned to sit when asked and always comes when you call him….all wiggles and smiles.  As active as Zeb is he still enjoys snuggling up next to you for pets and a good tummy rub.  He is a sweet and sensitive young Springer who has much love to give.

Being a young pup, Zeb still needs some obedience training, guidance and commitment.  Being that Zeb loves other dogs – a home with an active playmate would be best for him.  Zeb loves having a play buddy.

If your family has what Zeb needs ~ love, time, patience and energy ~ then drop Lin and Jim a line asking to talk about Zeb.

SAMMY
Lone Tree, CO

ESRA # 2008-528CO

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male
Color: Tri-colored
Weight: 50 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

Hello my name is Sammy and I am a very happy boy who loves to play.  My favorite toy is a stuffed animal that I carry around in my mouth.  I never tear them up.   I am good with the other dogs in my foster home.  Since I came from a shelter, we don't have any history on how I am with cats.

I am well behaved around the house, and come when I am called.  I seem to get along well with both men and women, and give my foster parents hugs and kisses. I would probably do best in a home with adults or older children.

Riding in the car is fun.   I love to go for walks .I pull a little bit on leash, so could use a bit of training.  When off leash I stick pretty close to my foster parents.  While I am energetic when outside, it is really good to come home and take a nice nap.

I just love water.  When I am out for walks and see a puddle or stream, I love to lay down in it.  It is also great to run back and forth in the water...what fun!

Age: 8 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 48 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Howdy folks!

You know, I am a pretty easy-going girl, I kind of fit in wherever I go, and have a pretty positive take on life. What you see is what you get!  My fluffy little tail wags a lot even though I didn't have an easy life in the past.  I was mainly either in the garage or the backyard, but, what the heck! I made it work.

Much to my surprise, my family decided to take me to shelter because I had ear infections.  Then the shelter decided they couldn't put me up for adoption because of these ear infections.  The best day of my life was when that nice lady Kimberly came and played with me and took me to stay with Nadine until my foster mom got back from her trip.

I am doing great in my foster home.  My foster brothers and sister have accepted me, I learned the doggy door right away, learned the household routine and have just made it all work.  I do fine in the house during the day, have good doggy manners - no counter-surfing,  ride well in the car, eat well and allow my foster mom to give me ear drops and pills so that we can get my ears healthy again.

My foster mom has showed me the joys of exercise and I love my runs in the field and on the golf course.  I am excellent off-leash and do well on-leash, too. I have no problem keeping up with my younger sibs.

I love children and will roll over on my back for belly rubs.  My former home says am good with cats. Men, women, children, other dogs - I like meeting them all.

Update 04 JUN 08: I have been to the groomers' and have new pictures.  I have a head shot and a body shot, but not a head and body shot! Oh, well, my foster mom isn't such a great photographer, but check out my beautiful ticking!  I am loving life, and things are looking up!

So I am a good-old girl!  If you think I might be the right dog for you, please contact Lin and Jim!

Miss Kitty is quite a little lady.  She does love the quiet life and wants nothing more than to be your constant companion!

Kitty came into rescue from a shelter.  She is looking for her forever home.  Kitty's perfect home is where she can be the only dog.  She really enjoys being the center of attention.  Being that she likes a quieter atmosphere - we would like to see Kitty be adopted by a family who can provider Kitty with the environment she needs to be happy.  When Kitty first meets you she is a bit shy.  After just a few minutes she is coming over for pets.  Don't let her shy demeanor fool you - she is a very outgoing lady once she gets to know you.

Kitty enjoys going for walks, rides very lady like in the car and comes when you call her name.  She greets you enthusiastically when you get home and has many stories to tell you about her day and all that her foster brothers did!!  Kitty does like to talk...what lady does not have a few things to say about...well just about anything.

Miss Kitty is quite a personality!  If you are looking for a spunky addition to your family who will love you forever - Miss Kitty is your gal.  Please send Jim and Lin a note about meeting Kitty.

ESRA #2008-0487CO

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

Hello my name is Sadie Leigh, and I am a lively young Springer who would do best in a home with adults or older children/teens.  When my family turned me into the shelter, they said I was a bit jumpy around young children.   I am affectionate with people I know, and will nuzzle for pets and give kisses. I am a bit wary of people that I don't know, and may hide behind my people. My Foster Mom says I am a very happy girl, and I come when I am called.

I lived with cats at a previous house, so I am OK with them.  In general, I get along well with other dogs, unless there is a really juicy bone or rawhide around..
I like squeaky toys, and like to fetch and play with people or other dogs. I love to go to the dog park and run. I love to go on walks, and am a really good girl, I don't pull at all.

I am housetrained, and do well on car rides. I have hunting experience, and know the hand and whistle commands for Sit, Stay, Come and Hold.  I am looking for the right Forever Home where I can be the happy little girl I am.  If you think I might be right for you, please contact Lin and Jim.

Hi All!

Jesse...a soft and gentle name for a girl who fits the name.

Jesse says: I was a happy, pampered ESS until my family had health issues and family care issues that kept them from providing care for me.

My foster mom says I am a beautiful, bench bred ESS who has her AKC papers.  I have no dominance issues, and would do best as a loved and treasured only dog or a companion to another gentle dog.  I love my chew and squeaky toys, and get along well with my foster siblings.  That said, I might get lost in the shuffle in a very busy household. I am a VERY sweet, loving ESS who is looking for a family that understands my gentle nature, and can provide me with the love I need.

I am also learning the joys of regular exercise, and would like to continue running and playing outside!

If you think you might be the right family for me, please contact Lin and Jim!

SAM
Rock Springs, WY

ESRA # 2008-0244SD

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 45 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Sam is very active.  His tail is docked and the dew claws are removed. He is at a good weight.

Sam is current on all his vaccinations.  He has been treated for heartworm, and will be retested at the end of July to determine if he is still infected.  Sam also has a foot injury.  He is missing about a third of his large pad on his right paw and that is being treated as well.  He does not need an e-collar. As long as the foot is wrapped, he leaves it alone.

We feed Iams large chunks, and Sam gets three cups at each feeding.  He is a good eater, and has no food aggression issues with people or other dogs.  He is taking medication for his heartworm for about three more weeks, and we feed that with peanut butter.  He enjoys that.

Sam is working on his housetraining.  He is pretty good, but forgets to go to the door to ask, and we haven't understood his signals of acting the fool next to us.  He is working on our training as well.

Sam is crate trained.  When we leave, he is crated with our Springer and does fine.  At night, he just lays down and does not make a noise until he has to go out in the morning.  Sam walks on a leash very well and seems to know heel just a bit.  He knows sit like a champ and is very proud of himself.  He is working on stay.  Understands no and get off.  We have lots of commands in our house such as go upstairs (from the basement), stay upstairs (don't follow into the
basement), get out (leave this room), wait there (outside the room at the door with the door open).  We are always giving the dogs directions and Sam is very
intelligent and understands very quickly.  The thing with Sam is he has a short attention span and a high activity level.  Anyway, Sam is very busy and likes a
great deal of stimulation.  He loves people and will do well in an active home that gives him lots of attention.  He will not do well in an active home that does not have time for him.  He must be included in all activities.  Sam likes all kinds of toys to include, rope toys, old socks, bones, balls are great fun.  He likes to play tug of war.  Sam likes all dogs and enjoys playing Springer wrestling smack down.  It is gentle however.  Sam tends to be the omega in the house of five dogs.  He is not a big barker.  He always has a smile on his face and enjoys life.  He does jump up on people very often and we are working on this.  He is just so happy to see you.  He does get on the furniture and loves to sit with you.  He is not
much of a beggar or counter surfer.  He has no problem eating with the other dogs and in fact, they can push him right out of his bowl and finish his food and he just comes to get me to help.  He takes treats very gently.  I don't know how he would be with cats.  He thinks the ferrets are very interesting but has not tried to eat them yet.

Sam would do great in an active home that will include him in their lives.  He rides in the car like a champ and just wants to be with his people. He is very intelligent so he needs lots of interesting things to learn.  He wants to be part of a family in the full sense of the word.  I think Sam would do well with children 10 years old and up if they are children that understand gentle touch and so on.  He is too high energy for a house with little ones.  Sam cannot wait to find a home that is just right for him.

DRAKE
Sandy, UT

ESRA #2008-0430UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 37 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

My name is Drake. I was left at the shelter by my previous owners because they didn't want me anymore!  I don't know why they would do that because I am a really good dog and try my best to do everything to make my people happy!!  I even have some AKC papers to prove what a great dog I am!!

I love my furry foster brother and we play all the time!  I love to run around the yard and play ball.  If nobody else can play with me, I will roll around on the floor, and play with the toys all by myself!  I like to make silly snorting noises when I play and I share all the chew bones and toys around the house very nicely.  After my play time I will happily lay down by my foster mom's feet and take a nap.

I am crate trained, but my foster mom says I am so good I can go anywhere in the house that I want to.  I learned the doggy door in no time and I am totally house trained.  I am always so excited to see my foster family come home that I welcome them with a bark and a tail wag, but I never jump up on anyone, even when my furry foster brother does!  I have pretty good manners and I learn fast!!  I know a few commands like sit, off and go lie down.  I need to learn to walk a little better on a leash, but I just get so excited to go for a walk and explore the world!  I love to ride in the car and I can load up all by myself.  I ride quietly in the back seat, look out the window, or just fall asleep.  I try very hard to listen to my foster family.

I love to be around kids, especially if they will play ball with me or give me a belly rub!  Ear rubs and tummy scratches are the best, especially now that I got my hair cut and had a bath.  My foster mom told them to leave some of my beautiful coat a little longer because it is so soft and shiny! I will need some help with my training to become the very best dog I can be.  I am healthy, and I need to gain a little weight, but I am a good eater, so that will be no problem!

I am so excited to find my forever home, please come and meet me soon!  I know I am pretty special and will make my new family very happy!!

Buggs
Parker, CO

ESRA #2007-687CO

Age: 7 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 43 lbs.
Variety: Bench-bred

Don't let the seven-year age, fool you, I am a strong and lively boy. I just love long walks and am looking to find a family who enjoys them, too. I have learned to Sit and Shake for treats. My house training is excellent and I love to ride in cars

Once I get to know you, I am a very loving, affectionate boy. If you want a Springer who will snuggle with you, be devoted and give you kisses, then I am your Boy . I have to admit I am a Ladies Man. I just love it, when my Foster Mom has her lady friends over. I turn on the charm and work the room, going from lady to lady, giving kisses and asking for pets. Many ladies have said that if they could adopt a dog, they would adopt me. They say I have a great personality. I also enjoy helping my Foster Mom bake and cook in the kitchen. OK, so I counter surf a little bit….but since I am short, she can put things in the back where I can't reach them.

I get along well with other dogs, who are submissive. As a bench bred-boy, I didn't know anything about hunting when I came to my foster home. My little “fieldie” foster sisters have shown me the ropes, and now I enjoy looking for bunnies, squirrels, birds and deer in our neighborhood. I would do best in an adult home where one of the family members is home a majority of the time. If I could find a forever family like that, I would be the happiest dog in the world!

ESRA # 2008-0338CO - Moe
ESRA # 2008-0337CO - Daisy

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male & Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 50 & 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

We are up for adoption together.  Our Foster Mom says we are so close, we are like one dog.

Moe:
"I am very friendly, but more laid back than my Sister.  Getting pets is also a favorite activity for me and I especially like ladies.  I am well behaved, housetrained and know basic commands, such as sit, no, come. I zig and zag a bit on leash, but stay close on off leash walks. I get along well with other dogs. "

Daisy:
"I am very friendly, especially once I get to know you.  I love to be close to my people and get lots of pets. That is the greatest.  I just love to be hugged and held.  I would rather get pets than play with toys. I love to be outside and run and play, but stay close when off leash and come when called.  I also walk well on leash.  I am a good girl around the house and am housetrained. I love my brother, but can be a little defensive with other large males until I get to know them. "

Both:
"Since we came from a shelter, our Foster Mom doesn't have any history for us with kids or cats, so our best placement would be with an adult household. Our energy level is moderate. Times have been a bit rough and we are on the thin side, but are working to get back to a normal weight. We are happy to ride in cars and will actually fall asleep on a longer ride. "

This bonded pair will only be placed together.

INDIANA JONES
Omaha, NE

ESRA # 2007-224NE

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 58 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Indiana, Indy, has been on somewhat of an adventure in the past few months.  He has found himself in 4 homes in 6 months!  As you can imagine this has left him a bit bewildered and unsure of his place in a family.  Such a good dog ... he just wants a home.

Indy is a very handsome, AKC boy.  He is housetrained, invisible fence trained, and rides well in the car.  He pulls hard on the leash, but walks fine off leash.  He likes toys and water!  He will greet you with a toy in his mouth, and has a ton of fun playing fetch with you. He splashes in his wading pool with joy.  He loves treats and attention.  After a long day of fun, or just when he is tired, Indy will retreat to a quiet place, where he prefers to be left alone.

Indy gets along well with other dogs.  He learned to tolerate cats in his other homes.  He is a big boy, so small children would not be a good match for him.

Mr. Indy is looking for a happy ending to his adventure.  All he needs is love and someone to give it to him.  He is ready to be your someone special.

MARLEY
Ogden, UT

ESRA #2008-0314UT

Age: 10 months
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

Meet Marley!!  He really is one of a kind!!  Marley is not only a gorgeous dog, he is extremely smart as well!  This boy has it all - with brains and beauty, now he will just have to work on the brawn, since he is still a growing puppy!  Marley came to us from previous owners who loved him very much, but he was just too much of a puppy for them.  He has impressed his foster home with his intelligence, he knows the basic commands, like sit and stay, he is crate trained, house trained and will ask to go outside.  Marley has the greatest personality ever!  You will love him the minute you meet him!!  He is a big old cuddle bug, and a very sweet and loving puppy.

Marley loves to play, he has plenty of energy, but he isn't too hyper, which is pretty good for a youngster.  He loves to play with his tennis balls.  Marley is very good with children, basically not letting them bother him at all.  He is friendly with other dogs and also good with cats.  If he finds a cat who will play with him, that is even better!!

If you pass up on the chance to meet Marley, you will miss an opportunity to meet one amazing Springer!  He is quite the charmer and all around fantastic dog!!  His foster mom had a hard time deciding not to keep him for her family.  Don't delay... call now... and see if Marley is the right dog for you!  I don't think Marley will be without a forever home for long!

ROOTY
Westminster, CO

ESRA #2007-651UT

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Please meet Rooty!  She is the sweetest dog ever, just like rooty-tooty-fruity candy!!  Rooty has been an outside dog because her previous owner didn't want her in the house.  But who wants to stay outside when all the fun is inside?  Besides, Rooty felt like most dogs do, she is just like all the other people in the family and she should be able to live in the house too!!

Now that she is in rescue, Rooty loves being an inside dog and living the good life like she always felt she deserved!  She roams free in the house and never has an accident.  Rooty has a new haircut, so she is feeling a little bit chilly in the cold weather, but her foster mom has assured her it will soon grow back very nicely!

Rooty is a pleaser and only wants to be with her people!  She is very good in her crate and completely housetrained already.  She is a very smart dog and learns quickly.  She can be a little bit growly when meeting new dogs, but she learns to love all of them in a very short time.  Rooty is a true velcro dog who sticks by you always!  She will love you forever if you can just give her the love and attention she so richly deserves!

OSCAR
Rock Springs, WY

ESRA # 2008-0243SD

Age: 2 year
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 35 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Oscar is very small, 35 pounds, and does need to gain a bit of weight, maybe 5 pounds.  He is built like a very small field bred.  His tail is docked and his dew claws are removed. Oscar is current on all vaccinations and is heart worm negative.

Oscar eats adult Iams, for large breeds, because the big chunks makes him eat slower. Oscar is a slow eater and a good eater.  Since he needs to gain weight, he eats twice per day, at about 6am and 6pm, and receives three cups per feeding.

He seems to be housetrained, and goes to the door when he wants to go out.  He loves the outdoors and especially loves snow.  We have crate trained him, and he is a very good boy.  He is in the crate when we are gone and at night.  He just walks in and lays down.  No fuss, no noise.  We are working on walking on a leash a bit better because Oscar does pull.  He rides in the car like a pro, and really enjoys riding in the back of my Subaru wagon.  We do not use a crate for car rides.  He is also very good with the vet and enjoys people, however he is a bit cautious.

Oscar is learning his name, and is starting to come when we call.  He lives in his own world, and often has more important things to do than listen to us.  He hasn't bonded with us as quickly or deeply as other Springers.  He is guarded with his love, and will need time to build trust with his new family.

Oscar does jump up occasionally, but it is with such a gentle nature it isn't so bad.  We are working on this, and he does like to get on the counters occasionally to see what yummy smells are up there.  However, he is not a beggar at meal time, takes treats very gently, and has never attempted to steal food from our plates.

When he first arrived in our house, he was leery of eating around the other dogs but now he doesn't even notice.  He shares toys and people well.  He is not super jealous.  I don't know how Oscar would be with cats, and he DOES want to eat the ferrets.

Oscar is a very sweet and gentle dog that will do best in a relaxed quiet home.  He enjoys dog companions, and likes to be pet and talked-to softly.  It will take him time to trust and really show his love.  He is just careful with his feelings.

I would not recommend children under "older teens" because he is a bit concerned and cautious.  I would not call him timid, just watchful.  He is great with other dogs, large and small.  He loves to play all the time.  Sometimes he is alpha, and sometimes omega.  He is really in the middle of the pack of five at my house.  His activity level is moderate.  He is very quiet in the house, but loves to play zoomies outside, and be chased and chase the other dogs.  He likes to play tug-o-war, and enjoys chewing on nylabones.  He is reserved, calm, and friendly.  Oscar is a real cutey, and is just very sweet.

I would recommend Oscar to an empty-nester or even an active older person.  He truly is a doll of a dog.

Beautiful Liz went to the Rainbow Bridge today.

She left us here on earth much, much too early.

Liz was full of life and a Springer through and through.

She never met a soul that she did not like.

The only comfort in Liz leaving is that she has many friends waiting for her at the Bridge ~ furry and human alike.

Love your pets and do your best to keep them safe everyday.

Denver, CO

ESRA #2007-958UT

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 37 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hello All -

I'm A.J. and am a very active six-year-old, who loves to run. I do quite well off-leash and love to explore the field.  I am quick and graceful but I am always willing to stop for a tummy rub. I am a petite girl, and have found a good way to get by my big foster brothers is to walk underneath them!! I want nothing more than to please the humans in my life.

I love to play with my foster brothers and I love to snuggle!!  I am doing well leash-training and I always aim to please my family.  I am a little too interested in cats, so need to find a home with no felines.

I have had a bit of a rough time lately - I have had some little bumps that had to be removed.  My foster mom tells me this sometimes happens when girl dogs don't get spayed when they are really young.  All the bumps have been completely removed, and I am healthy, but my new family needs to check my tummy for a few more months to make sure that no more bumps show up.

My foster mom says: AJ is a very sweet, loving girl who is looking for a home that can provide her with daily exercise and lots of love. She is very much a Velcro dog and loves to hang out with her family.  She would do well with other dogs or as an only dog. She loves human contact, and is hoping she can find a family that will provide the love and care that she needs and deserves.  If you think you are the right family for AJ, please let us know!

Introducing Maddie!  A darling little girl just waiting for a new family to lover her.  Petite little Maddie will snuggle into your arms and heart when given the chance.  Maddie is cautious when meeting new people, but once she feels secure, she is a bouncy, fun dog.  Maddie is crate trained, housetrained, invisible fence trained, will sit for treats, is great with other dogs, and has lived with children in the past.  Maddie rides quietly in the car, enjoying the trip as much as the destination.

Out in the field, this little girl shows off her breeding.  She is a joy to watch as she quarters beautifully.  She loves the water, and will seek out a swimming hole whenever one is available.  Her Springer joy just can not be contained when she is outside.  Fun!

Maddie has had no formal training.  She is waiting for you to give her guidance, love and the security of a Forever Home.

Color: Liver/White
Weight: 49 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

My name is Miss Daisy and I am a very friendly girl who loves everybody I meet; men, women, children, other dogs, and even cats.  I have a long tail and just love to wag it.
I am housetrained, come when I am called and love to ride in cars. I am a high energy girl who loves to run, but I behave myself around the house.  I am very sweet, affectionate and outgoing

I know all the basics commands, No, Sit, Down.I even bring my empty water dish to my Foster Mom for refilling and bring her a leash to remind her to take me for walks.  Did I tell you I love walks? OK, I do pull a bit on the leash, but since I am so smart, if someone is willing to take me to a training class, I can probably learn to walk with a little less enthusiasm.

I am looking forward to finding my own Forever Family.

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 42 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Peter is a very lively two year old who loves to play with balls and squeaky toys.  He enjoys having other dogs to play with, but occasionally will be a little bossy.  He is a bouncy outgoing boy who responds well to both men and women.  Peter is well behaved around the house, is housetrained, crate trained and has learned to use a doggie door.

Peter stays with you when walking off leash and comes when called, but he could use a bit of work with on leash skills.  We do not have any history on Peter with either children or cats, but he completely ignored the cats at the vet's office even when they approached him.

Peter is very loving and lives to please you.  He wiggles all over every time he sees you.  He is a quick learner and always tries to do his best.

Age: 7 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 71 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Patches is a gentle and friendly boy, who loves to ride in the car. He also enjoys belly rubs and having his ears scratched. Patches gets on well with other dogs, and plays with them as much as his hip and knee allow. Patches has an old hip and knee injury that are currently being evaluated. Currently he is maintained on a mild anti-inflammatory drug. Patches has shown some interest in cats, but is not aggressive towards them. Patches is also a little over weight, and has been placed on low calorie diet. Patches walks well with a easy walker harness, is house trained, and readily learned to use the doggy door. He knows Sit and Comes when called.

Patches was relinquished to a local shelter when his elderly owner could no longer care for him, and other family members were not able to take him. Won't you consider a place in your heart for this gentle giant?

RANGER
Calhan, CO

ESRA # 2008-0063KS

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Tri-colored
Weight: 50 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Ranger is busy learning about the good life at his new foster home.  Everything seems so new to him, and he is busy exploring all that he encounters.  Ranger enjoys people, and gets along well with children.  He will run up to you with a big grin, and will wrap his front legs around the waist of people he knows. He also like to put his head in your lap to get pets and loving. Ranger socializes well with the other dogs in his foster home.

He walks well off leash, and seems to zero-in on birds in the field, so we think Ranger may have had some experience at hunting. He is a medium-to-high energy boy, who enjoys walks or running in the field. He is also calm around livestock.  He is learning to come when called, and has mastered the doggie door.  Ranger is still on the thin side from his time on the run. He is a big boy and may be close to 60 pounds when he is filled out.

Ranger is looking forward to finding his Forever Home, where he will be someones Special Boy.

ALLI
Ogden, UT

ESRA #2008-0119UT

Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Introducing awe-inspiring Allie!  I am a happy go lucky lady just wanting to be part of your family.  I didn't cut it in the hunting world because I am just too sensitive.  I really want to be with people that love me and will throw me a tennis ball....I love tennis balls!  I was an outside dog and now I am getting used to, and really loving, the luxury of carpet... and company!  When I come inside, I just get so excited that all I can do is walk around in circles holding my ball while my tail wags non stop!  So my new family will need some patience to help me settle in.  After 20 minutes or so I feel comfortable enough to plop down at your feet... but only if you don't get up and go anywhere!  If you do, I will be right at your side!!

My foster mom has a pretty cranky cat, and she scares me, so I don't bother her at all.  The cute and crazy two year old boy I live with is no problem either.  I just try to sneak a few licks of leftover lunch off his hands...shh.. don't tell!  There is my foster sister... I really don't pay much attention to her... I'm more a people kind of dog.  So if you want to...maybe you could squeeze me in on your floor, because I never get on the furniture!  I love a nice walk, on or off leash, my foster mom says I'm great either way! So paw-leese give me the chance for a wonderful new home!!

Alli came to us from a gentleman that wanted to use her for hunting, but it turns out she is gun shy. She is a very sensitive girl and really wants to be good and please you!  She needs a little confidence building to bring out all of her potential.  Her housetraining is coming along nicely since she has become an inside dog.  However it would help her to have a home with a doggie door and a nice backyard.  Alli is a wonderful dog with a lot of love to give!!

Lucky Number Seven!

Lucky is seven years old and a prince of a dog.  He is very mannerly in the house, loves to play,  and is good with other dogs.   He is leash, invisible fence, and crate trained.  He prefers to sleep in his crate at night and even looks forward to being fed there too.  Lucky rides well in the car and enjoys his outings that the rides bring him.  He loves people of all ages and will talk to you when he seeks out attention.

Lucky has a strong prey drive.  He works the field well and may have had some previous hunting experience.  His age makes him a reliable partner and an easy companion.  Lucky you!

JACK
Denver, CO

ESRA # 2007-835NE

Age: 14 months
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 43 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Hi, I'm Jack!  I'm cute as a button, and just of ton of puppy fun! I know you can not resist my Springer charm...

Jack is  housetrained, invisible fence trained, crate trained and is learning the intricacies of the doggie door. He is ready to learn all that you have to offer him. He loves to play, snuggle, and adores treats. He will sit so pretty for them! Jack has lived with children ages five and up.  He is not an overly bouncy boy, but  has that Springer energy that would benefit from daily walks.

Jack's one flaw is that he does not like to ride in a car and gets very anxious, so he would love a family that is not planning car adventures.  He needs a family that will love him, and guide him in his growing up.

ROBBY
Parker, CO

ESRA # 2008-0041UT

Age: 7 months
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 34 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Robby is a sweet, wonderful puppy.  He made the trip from Utah with his brother Rocky.  They are as close as two brothers can be.

Robby was taken to the shelter by the breeder because she could not sell him.  That is were he ran into his brother Rocky.  The two of them have been inseparable ever since.

Robby is a Springer puppy through and through!  He is inquisitive, full of energy, and smart.  Robby loves to play with his brother Rocky.  He has learned to Sit, and comes running when called.  As much as Robby enjoys walks, he still needs a bit of work on his leash skills.  He is kennel trained, and loves to have toys in there with him. He likes to stay busy!  Robby is housetrained, but will need constant reinforcement for a while longer to stay that way.  He gets along great with the two older dogs in the house as well.  Robby is a gentleman (as much as a puppy can be) at the vet's office.

Robby is a great puppy, and with love, guidance, and continued education, he will become the wonderful Springer that he is meant to be.  If you think that your home is Robby's paradise - please contact Jim and Lin right away!

Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 31 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Rocky is a sweet, wonderful puppy.  He made the trip from Utah with his brother Robby.  They are as close as 2 brothers can be.

Rocky came to us a very thin, leery and scared little boy.  He did not have the same start in life that his brother did.  Rocky was purchased from the breeder and after a few months was not wanted anymore.  Rocky ended up in the shelter were his brother was.  The 2 of them have been inseparable ever since.

He loves to play with his brother Robby.  He has learned to sit and comes running when called.  As much as Rocky enjoys walks he still needs a bit of work on his leash skills.  He is kennel trained and loves to have toys in there with him.  Rocky is house trained, but will need constant reinforcement to stay that way for a while longer.  He gets along great with the 2 older dogs in the house as well.  Rocky has not met a person that he hasn't wanted to meet.   He is an outgoing pup who has the best smile.  Rocky is gaining weight and coming into his own, every day is a new adventure for him.

Rocky is a great puppy and with love, guidance and continued education he will become the wonderful Springer that he is meant to be.   If you feel you have the perfect home for Rocky - please send Jim and Lin an email!

FLETCHER
Ouray, CO

ESRA #2007-525UT

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hi, my name is Fletcher, but it really should be The Transformer. You see, I have been transformed while living with my foster family.  I have regained my health, put on 12 pounds and grown a beautiful new coat.  I have learned to trust people again and found that living with cats is OK.

I like all that attention I get, and one of the things I like the best is to give my foster Mom and Dad a hug when they get home.  I also like to sit in their laps, but they say I'm not a lap dog. Can you imagine!  I also like to ride in the car and go for walks.

My foster Dad takes me to work with him and out to the barn to do chores. There are so many good smells in the barn! I love stuffed toys and like to  toss and roll with them on the floor.  One of my favorite things is to see what they are made of and spend lots of time pulling out the stuffing.

I am a quiet sensitive guy, who enjoys curling up in my basket and being with my people.  Won't you consider being my new Forever People.

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 35 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hi, my name is Wrigley!  I got my name because I am so wiggly!  I really love my name and I started answering to it right away.  I am a very happy boy!! (that's the reason why I am so wiggly) I am especially happy to be out of the shelter.  Because anyone who meets me can't believe my other family wouldn't come to get me.  My foster mom says I am very obedient and I am great at walking off my leash.  I am housetrained and I love to play with toys!!

I like to run around with something in my mouth all the time.  I love to play fetch with a tennis ball, if you happen to have any around.  Did I mention I like to play with toys? But I know what toys are for and I wouldn't chew on anything else, I promise!  I am very mellow in the house and I know how to use the dog door like a pro!!

I am a very good boy who only wants a loving home and someone to snuggle up with.  I like kids and all the other dogs I meet.  I am a very friendly guy!  My foster mom had a hard time deciding not to keep me herself.  She said I was absolutely great!!  There is nothing that I do not like and if you will take me home I will be your best friend forever!!

Age: 1-1/2 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 45 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hi my name is Maynard!  I think you will like me when you meet me, most everyone does!!  I am a very cute boy, or so I have been told.  I am lots of fun and full of energy as you might expect from a dog of my young age!!  I am learning about lots of new things since I have been in rescue.  I do like to ride in the car!  At first it was fun looking out all the windows and finding the softest seat, but then I found a comfy place to settle down and ride very calmly.

When my great new friend took me to the doggy beauty shop for a bath, I had a lot of fun looking the place over and taking in all the smells.  Speaking of smells, I came out of that place looking and smelling much better than when I went it!!  I really liked meeting all the people in the beauty shop, I love people and I always want to be around  them. I get along well with other dogs too, so I guess I am a pretty friendly guy.

I haven't been in rescue or my foster home for very long.  My other owner released me to the shelter, and lucky for me the wonderful rescue lady came along very soon to pick me up!  Thank goodness!!  I like it a lot better where I am now and I will very be happy when I have a new home to call my own!  Check back with my foster mom in a few days to find out more about me after she gets to know me better.

But I really think you are going to like me when you meet me, most everyone does!!

Oh Oh Domino!!  Once you meet this handsome Springer you'll be singing his name.  He is hard to forget.

He does like to play and run around, but like most gentlemen prefers to be seen not heard.  Domino loves his belly rubbed and tells you so by giving you kisses back.
One of his favorite spots is where you are.  He has not met a person or canine that he has not liked.

Say hi to Vader!  He is a spunky boy who would love a family that can give him the time and attention he needs to become the very best Springer he can be!!  Vader is a gorgeous 1 1/2 year old black and white bench boy.  He is AKC registered with papers to show for it.  Vader is extremely sweet and loving.  He gets along well with his foster brother and most any dog he meets.  He does like to chase cats, but just to see if they want to play!  Vader rides well in the car, he is housetrained, but he is still puppy enough to possibly chew something you forgot to pick up off the floor!!  Vader is good with children, he is just a little too friendly sometimes and thinks jumping up to greet everyone is the best way to make friends!

Vader's previous family loved him enough to want to give him the best life he could have.  If you think Vader would be just the right dog for you and you would like to give him a happy, loving, new Forever Home, please call us soon!

JACK
Rock Springs, WY

ESRA # 2008-0056UT

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 50 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hi, my name is Jack, and I am a three-year-old black and white Springer. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am very friendly and playful and I love hard chew toys (like Nylabones). I am housetrained, come when I am called, and I ride well in the car. I probably would not be good with cats, because I try to get the ferrets at my foster home. Sometimes, I like to counter surf...a guy gets hungry once in a while, you know! I need to put on a few pounds any way.

My foster mom says I am a real love and a sweetheart of a dog. She says he loves attention and takes treats very gently. He is very intelligent dog and has the ability to learn. Jack loves to play with our ten-month-old Springer.

It seems Jack may have been trained with an aggressive hand. He is very timid of men and worries when given a command by a man even when it is given in a calm voice.  Jack does not react that way with women.  He is much more trusting and happy around women.  Jack would probably do best in an active home without young children because he worries about being punished.  Jack will need someone who will be patient with him and allow him time to trust again. He will do best with a gentle hand and someone who will allow him to be a house dog.  He loves to be in the house with his people where he feels safe.

Colorado Springs, CO

ESRA #2008-106KS

Age: 2-3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 38 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

I am Mick.  Little is known about my past and I would just as soon forget about it and start new memories with a loving family.  Somewhere in my short life of 2-3 years I learned to be house trained and can come when called, still working on Sit and OFF. My foster mom is trying to teach to fetch the morning paper so my new owners won't have to brave the cold.    I do not beg at the table and will only curl up next to you when invited or know when you need a little love.  I am very low key.Feed me, Love me is all I ask. Think of me as a comfortable pair of shoes, easy going, no worries. My foster family can't figure out what toys I like to play with.  Did I mention I love to run with my foster mom, we have this route of 2 miles and after that morning run I will curl up on the floor in whatever room she is in and take a snooze.

I room well with other dogs and kids, my foster family has a 10 year old and a 12 year old plus the other Springer  in fact. let me tell you about her...better not ,  my foster mom will read this and not think it was funny.

Back to me, I love being outside and I have passed the left alone in the house test.  I do not counter-surf and do not chew.  Pick ME .Love me!!!

PRECIOUS
Logan, UT

ESRA #2007-1065UT

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
Weight: 40 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-bred

Hi, meet Precious!  Precious is a beautiful, gentle springer with just about everything a person could ask for in a charming companion.  She was not well cared for in her previous home, however she is self confident and resilient, and she will adapt to a new loving family very well.

Precious likes people and dogs.  She'd like to be the top dog, but she isn't pushy about it.  The top dog in her foster home likes her well enough to sleep curled up next to her!  Precious does well on a leash but could use some help with the direction, heel.  She comes when called, even to people she doesn't know very well.

Precious is pretty energetic and seems much younger than her 6 years.  She still wants to play with the other dogs, just like a puppy!  She will need a home where there is lots of outdoor activity like hiking, skiing, or jogging.  A trip around the block will not be enough exercise for this active pup!  Precious has not met cats that we know of, she doesn't bark much, except to join in on a local bark fest!!  She doesn't jump fences, but will push down the puppy gate to be near her humans.  She is definitely a Velcro dog, always wanting to be by your side.

Precious is a very good dog, and deserves a great new home! Won't you please check out this precious girl!!

MOLLY
Sandy, UT

ESRA #2007-1024UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 42 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

My name is Molly.  I am a beautiful liver and white girl.  Up until now I have had it rough.  I had a litter of puppies and when they were old enough my family decided to give me to rescue.  I was an outside dog and my collar was too tight so it rubbed some of the fur off my neck.  My family didn't tell the rescue people much about me.  I am with my great foster family now and they have gotten to know me pretty well.

I have learned a lot in just a few days, like how to use a dog door.  Pretty important!!  I am learning that there is enough dog food for everyone.  I never go potty in the house and I look but don't touch the stuff in the kitchen.  I've also found that toys are a lot of fun!  I like to share toys with my foster brother Fred, he doesn't mind that I like to be in charge.  We love to run together in the yard and play tag!  I am pretty shy around new people and in new situations, but I warm up quickly!  My foster family is nice and patient with me and I like to be loved and sit on laps.  You know, humans aren't so bad when you get the right ones!  My human foster brother is twelve and I like him a lot.  I haven't been around little kids lately.

My foster mom makes a really big deal about how good I am in the house.  She says I'm such a good girl when she leaves me home alone, because I never touch her stuff.  I guess some dogs are naughty in the house, but not me!  I just lie down and relax on the couch or in my kennel.  I like to be in the kennel, but I prefer to have the door left open, because a girl likes options!!  My foster mom also  tells everyone how smart I am.  I pay attention and she thinks I will be easy to train.  I don't know many commands yet but I learn fast and want to please everyone!

I hope you will give me a Forever Home and a new family to love and learn from, that is my Christmas wish!!

MISTY
Denver, CO

ESRA #2007-990UT

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 35 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

Hi, my name is Misty, and I'm a little bundle of energy looking for a home where people will love me and I can love them back!  I'm very entertaining.  Wait till you see me spin in place!

I've had a rough life so far, but I don't let it get me down.  The best day of my life was the day in December when I was rescued!  What a day that was, my first visit inside a car, and into a real house.  I had no idea that there were things like treats, dog toys, loving people, dog doors, walks on leashes, runs at the dog park, and fun dogs to play with!! I really love to chew, and am loving having bones and squeaky toys.  I am still reeling with the wonder of it all!

I love people, and I like other dogs too.  I am fitting right in to the pack (there are three Spaniels at my foster home). Even though I had ideas about being the dominant dog, I am respectful of my elders.  I don't bark (much), jump fences, or crash puppy gates.  I settle down quickly in the house unless my friends want to wrestle.  I have not met any cats yet.

I am looking for a family who will give me lots of TLC and tummy rubs.  I plan to return the love with lots of cuddling and smooching from me.  My new family will have to take me to doggie obedience school so I understand what they expect.  I also need a good run every day to burn off my puppyish exuberance.  I need a fenced yard so I don't go exploring.

I'm really looking forward to my new life.  I never knew it could be this good! When I find my new Forever Home that will really be the best day of my life!

FREDDY
Rock Springs, WY

ESRA # 2007-1002WY

Age: 8 months
Gender: Male
Color: Liver/White
Weight: 32 lbs.
Variety: Bench/Show-Bred

Poor Freddy was found along the side of the road with another Springer.  Freddy and his pal were probably on their own for quite awhile because he is pretty thin. Freddy will require some extra feedings to help him put on some weight. He is a gorgeous bench bred neutered male. Freddy is about 8 mos old and has the instincts to make a great hunting dog. He gets along well with other dogs, and he loves people. We are not sure how he would be with cats.  He will need an active family and someone that is willing to work with him and train him.

Freddy's dream is to find a good home where he can be inside most of the time and to be spoiled a lot.

DEUCE

ESRA # 2007-965NE

Age: 11 months
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 43 lbs.
Variety: Field-Bred

Hi!  My name is Deuce because I am twice as much fun as just one!

Deuce is a grinner!  He greets you with a smile and a body that wiggles from head to tail.   His sweet little face brightens up any gloomy room.  Deuce is house trained, invisible fence trained, rides well in the car, walks fine on the leash,  knows basic commands (and will follow them with treats!), and is a playmate for all of his foster brother and sisters.  Deuce likes people of all ages.  It is unknown how he is with cats at this time.  He is a happy little guy that is willing to please you and snuggle up to you for love and attention.

Deuce has the typical puppy field springer energy and would do best with someone that is willing to channel it into something positive.  He will require daily exercise to keep him and you happy and fit.   He has good instincts in the field and with training could develop into a hunting partner.

Double your fun with Deuce!

Age: 18 months
Gender: Male
Color: Black/White
Weight: 68 lbs.
Variety: Field-bred

I am a mellow, easy going, friendly sort of guy.  I walk pretty well on a leash. If you are looking for a boy who is loving and affectionate. I'm the one for you.  I am obedient and learn quickly, so it won't take be long to pick up on your routine.

I am submissive, so would be OK with other dogs.  Since I don't have any history with children, they would prefer to place me in a home with adults or older children.
