Sophie

Sophie was found as a stray in Council Bluffs, Iowa. .She is a 3 to 4 year old black and white field Springer. Sophie is blind in one eye because of a cataract, but don’t let that stop you from looking at this wonderful little girl; she is a real joy to be around and will steal your heart. Sophie loves to snuggle and will give you a hug if asked. She is very mellow for a young Springer and just wants someone to cuddle up with you either on the couch or at your feet. She loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster brothers. I don’t think Sophie has met anyone yet that she doesn’t like. She is up to date on all of her shots and has been spayed. She is crate trained and we are working on her leash walks as she pulls quite a bit. She does know some commands and is a very quick learner. Dixie

Dixie is one of the gorgeous purebred puppies we have, the boldest of the group, she's the official investigator of anything new or different. Once she feels that she as adequately sniffed and stared down the object of interest she lets out a bark of victory. Too cute for words! Dixie is off to a great start on her potty and leash training. She will come when called by name, that is if she is not 'busy' doing something else. She sleeps well in a crate and hasn't had a nighttime 'accident'. She'll let out a bark when 'nature calls' at night. The quintessential ESS, she loves food and treats, she has not missed a meal yet!

Dixie wants to be where you are, she will jump up on your leg to make sure you know that she is there, and she almost seems to smile at you. She's a snuggler and cuddler when she is sleepy or just about anytime, she will snuggle right into you. Dixie is a wonderful girl, but will need lots of love, attention, guidance and exercise as she grows into the beautiful Springer that she was meant to be.

Fagan is a sweet, quiet boy.  He can be a bit reserved when he first meets you, but warms up quickly once he knows he can trust you.  Fagan is housebroken, gets along well with  most other dogs (cats unknown), rides well in the car.

Bronco is the most perfect gentleman that you could meet. He has impeccable indoor manners, and gets along perfectly with other dogs. He is a cat hunter so we don't recommend any homes with them. He doesn't counter surf, beg for food, or get near the garbage. He's just a laid back dog that enjoys hanging out with his favorite humans (maybe watching a little football on TV, hence his name). He has gone to our wonderful Angel Vet (Dr. Doug in Laramie, WY) to fix a torn ACL, he is ready to find his Forever Home. One that will appreciate his winning attitude and quarterback style. Great with kids, he's best buddies with his 11 year old foster family brother, and a gentleman on a leash, here's one dog who is at the Super Bowl every day!

XENA - Princess Warrior! No? Well, how about.... Xena, Princess Cuddler! A title that fits this 6 year old, black and white, fieldy girl to the tee.

Xena came into rescue after her family had to move and could not take their happy girl with them. Xena is very good-natured. She lived in a day care in her puppy years and later with a family with 4 children. She has typical field Springer energy and alertness. She is crate trained, invisible fence trained, good on a leash, good with other dogs, good in the car... you could just say she is just a very good girl!

Xena loves to be cuddled and will do her best to crawl into your lap during a morning cup of coffee. She has been a close gardening companion this spring. A good romp out in the field brings bouncing, springing joy to her step.

Her former owners noted that she is afraid of loud noises, such as gunshots, fireworks, and thunder. She, however, has not exhibited any strong signs of this during our spring rain storms (yet?).

If you can provide Xena with daily exercise, lots of toys, an indoor bed, a lap to call her own, and of course, tons of love ... then this princess could be your forever companion.

Hello, my name is Tucker. I am a smaller Springer Spaniel looking for a loving home. I am good with other dogs, good with cats and great with people.  I ride in the car very well and am quite well behaved.  I was a VERY good boy at the vet's!  My previous owners turned me into a shelter because I "needed exercise every day!"  But I am not even hyper. Just the typical Springer Spaniel. AND I know how to sit, shake, take treat gently.  I like to swim and play fetch with a tennis ball or a Frisbee.

Bodie came in to a shelter as a stray. He is a typical puppy.  He has a beautiful coat and perfect teeth. His energy level is high but he has calmed down a lot while in the house. At first he was crated  and he was a model puppy while crated.  Now he has the run of the house and is doing great. He walks nicely on a lead with a collar or harness.

See Spot. See Spot run. Run Spot run! Spot ran and ran - but

could not catch up with his family that left him to fend for himself

when they moved. Thank goodness for ESRA!

Spot is a 7 year old, 46 pound, black and white sweetheart! He has

quickly adapted to “indoor life”. He finds getting a real meal

everyday the most wonderful thing in the world. He walks very well on

the leash and rides quietly in the car. He is VERY good with other

dogs. He has investigated the friendliness of the shop kitty and has

decided not to push the issue with the dog wise cat. He is definitely

more secure with women and children than men. He cowers when there are

loud noises... however every day he seems more confident in his new

surroundings and more trusting of men. He does not get up on the

furniture, preferring to sleep by your chair or bedside. He is

trained on the invisible fence system. He is happy with moderate

exercise. Our vet describes him as the perfect companion to curl up

with in front of the fire place.

Spot deserves a quiet home filled with love and patience. As his

foster family, we are enjoying watching him become the great Springer

he was born to be. Are you needing a forever friend? Spot needs you

Tiffany is a little jewel of a dog. Weighing in at a mere 28 lbs, she

is a shining example of a young, energetic, very smart, confident

female field Springer.

Tiffany fits the description of a diamond in the rough. She has been

passed around a few too many times in her young life, probably being

too smart for her owners! She learns things very quickly and will use

what is taught to her (intentionally or unintentionally) to her

advantage. We find her intelligence to be her strongest point! She

trained easily on the invisible fence system, learned the boundaries of

our home and our routines in an amazing short amount of time. She

rides quietly in the car and is learning good leash manners... though

she does wish we could go just a little faster! She loves her exercise

time. She also loves to snuggle on your lap or bed when invited. She

prefers to be the “boss” around other dogs and if given the chance

would “catch the cat”.

Rocco is a well built, sturdy little guy who is happy, happy! He has a non-stop tail and kisses everything and everyone. He gets along with kids and dogs but is unknown with cats. Rocco enjoys chasing balls and can even stand on his hind feet when prompted. He knows some basic commands but pulls a little on the leash, so he would need a refresher. He's got a great personality, quiet, and doesn't beg or counter surf.

We're pleased to introduce the newest Lady in our court! Her AKC name is Adelaide, Lady of Schofield ~ but you can call her Addie! She's a gorgeous, liver & white, field bred ESS who has enough energy to play hard all day and sleep hard all night. She's up to date on all her shots, gets along well with other dogs but we are thinking cats may be too much of an enticement for this little princess. She is crate trained, housebroken and waiting for that special family to give her lots of attention, exercise and a royal home of her own.

Katie is a sweet dog that is full of energy. She is doing nicely with her foster dog brother and loves to play and run with him. She is housebroken, not food or toy possessive and a really sweet girl. Her right hind leg has a bit of a bow to it but it isn't causing any problems for her. The Vet thought perhaps this happened due to malnutrition while growing. All in all she is a sweetheart looking for her forever family.
